Winners Story – VIP Weekend at the Silverstone British Grand Prix

Thank you to Victoria Thompson and her partner, Anthony Durkin, for this great review of their weekend at the F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone.

Where do I start? It was an excellent weekend from beginning to end.

We had a three-day grandstand pass for Vale which allowed us to have great views of Stowe, Vale, and Copse corners.

Friday was the day for practice and Sprint Qualifying. It was a quiet day for us as we were driving to the hotel straight after.

Saturday was quite a day! We were a little bit delayed getting into Silverstone as you’d expect with the traffic. However, we arrived with enough time to get a beer before the sprint race at 12:00 hrs. We watched the sprint race and then watched the qualifying a bit later on. The drinks flowed and, surprisingly, the prices at Silverstone were quite reasonable.

Sunday came, and we got up early in the morning. We were at Silverstone at a decent time, so we walked around the course, took in the race day atmosphere, and had a few beers. We saw the team principles from Alpine and McLaren, my team. They were talking to the crowd and certainly helped to get the atmosphere going!

I’m a McLaren fan (Team Lando) and my better half is Lewis Hamilton all the way. McLaren weren’t at their best, but I was disappointed that Lewis didn’t win as he deserved it. The race finished under a safety car, but it didn’t dampen the experience.

The entire event was well organized from beginning to end by Sportsbreaks who organized the hotels and transport to and from the circuit.

I’d like to say a big thank you to wefundgrassrootssport.com for providing this amazing prize. It was a pleasure to support such a great cause.

Thanks for a fantastic weekend.
